Fulfilling Career as a Water Technician

The Water Technician supports daily water system operations including meter reading, flow data recording, routine pump station maintenance, and emergency repairs of the distribution system. Weekend shifts and on‑call duty required once certified. Ideal candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to perform strenuous physical work in varying weather conditions, and experience with tools and equipment commonly used in water system maintenance. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required; CDL must be obtained within two years, and Vermont Water Operator, Class III Certification within one year.
