The Town of Springfield will hold a Public Hearing at 6:30 PM, on Monday, March 14, 2022 via ZOOM Video Conferencing and in-person at the Springfield Town Office, 96 Main Street in Selectmen’s Hall for the purpose of providing a Second Reading of Proposed Ordinance 2022-01 and receiving public input concerning the Emergency 911 Highway Naming and Numbering Ordinance.  A copy of the proposed ordinance may be picked up at the Town Clerk’s Counter or viewed on the Town of Springfield website:  https://springfieldvt.gov .  If you have questions, please contact the Town Manager’s Office at 885-2104.

At the March 1, 2022 Town Meeting election there will be an article on the ballot that states “Shall the Town vote to authorize cannabis retailers in town pursuant to 7 V.S.A. Section 863?” The retail sale of cannabis is already legal in Vermont. However, the town must vote to allow the licensing of retail establishments before any retail licenses can be approved. On January 31, 2022, at 7 p.m. the Springfield Selectboard will host a meeting for the voters to hear information about this new law and to have your questions answered about the article on the ballot.
