Springfield Selectboard Public Hearing & Regular Meeting
When:The Selectboard of the Town of Springfield will hold a public hearing on October 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Hall on 96 Main Street in Springfield, VT, to receive comments on proposed amendments to three Town Ordinances. This is the second, and possibly final, public hearing on these proposed amendments. The purpose of these proposed amendments can be summarized as follows:
- To expand the locations covered by the blight ordinance from locations that are within 500 feet of a school, licensed childcare facility, or a registered childcare facility to all locations in the Town of Springfield. To make definitions of blighted, dilapidated, ill-maintained or ill-repaired properties and exemption provisions consistent with other town ordinances. To make other language changes to comply with changes made by the State Legislature during the Charter Amendment process.
- To repeal the Taxi Ordinance
- To repeal the Rental Registry Ordinance
The proposed amendments affect the entire jurisdiction of the Town of Springfield.
