In accordance with 24 V.S.A. §§4441, 4444, the Selectboard of the Town of Springfield will hold a public hearing on October 24, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall on 96 Main Street in Springfield, VT, to receive comments on proposed amendments to the zoning bylaws.  This is the second, and possibly final, public hearing on these proposed amendments.  The purpose of these proposed amendments can be summarized as follows:

  • The primary reasons for amendments are to merge the subdivision and zoning regulations into one document, clarify the permitting process, update the flood hazard standards and procedures to make them more easily understandable, make changes that encourage downtown revitalization, and clarify standards and address statutory requirements.

The proposed amendments affect the entire jurisdiction of the Town of Springfield.

Notice of Public Gathering of Springfield Selectboard

The Springfield Selectboard is likely to gather at 11 am on Thursday, September 1, in-person at 96 Main Street and/or via Zoom videoconferencing, on the occasion of the swearing in of Jeff Burnham as incoming Chief of Police. This gathering is ceremonial in nature, and no town business will be conducted by the Selectboard.
